I just installed one of these on a customer's rifle last night and had to tell you about the Strike Industries Ultimate Dust Cover.
*For full disclosure let me start by saying that this is a Polymer part. All the chances for Polymer to fail on an AR upper rifle apply here.*
All that aside this is actually a cool little part. I love the quick detach feature of it. The right side "pin" is solid while the left side has a plunger that holds the part into the pin holes. So, installation literally takes seconds. Being Polymer it is extremely light weight so If you're looking to shave weight this is a fairly inexpensive way to cut that extra fraction.
It comes in four different patterns from standard, i.e. no pattern, to a Don't Tread On Me with Rattlesnake. Your only other option is black or Flat Dark Earth...but you know what...what other color would you really need.
If you're looking to Cerakote your rifle this part is perfect. Just degrease and shoot it.
