Carry Your Mags Right
We all know Concealment Solutions does some great work. They have some new mag carriers out that are amazing. Before we get started...no these are not for concealed carry. Well one of them is but that’s beside the point. Their new AR15 mag carriers are everything we’ve come to expect from Concealment Solutions. Quality, durability, and price are all in line with customer expectations. As a company, they have come a long way from the one man shop in the back shed that I knew the last time I paid him a visit. C.S. has become a world class Kydex maker. But enough about them. Let’s get to these mag carriers. Chameleon Series After giving these carriers a workout I can see that they are designed with law enforcement, trainers, and general emergency preparedness in mind. All of the Chameleon series carriers come with adjustable retention but we also have three options to fill the above these roles.
Bladetech MOLLE Clips attach the carrier to a plate carrier, tac vest, or bug out bag. Basically anything with MOLLE webbing. The Bladetech gear clips tightly to the webbing and holds the mag carrier very securely on the webbing. In testing, I had it on a small “Go Bag” from a previous article. I went as far as to put a full magazine in the carrier and toss the bag around my living room a few times. I was curious as to whether the clips would disconnect with a weighted impact. They didn’t. I’m very impressed with the durability of this mounting option. Is it Military ready? Probably not but you and I don’t have to depend on this option in the “Sand Box”. Bladetech Tek-Lok is a great little attachment option. This is an adjustable belt mount. It adjusts for belt widths from 1.25” to a full 2” for duty belts. This is a great option for rigger's belt. Law enforcement, trainers, and PMC contractors should pay close attention to this mag carrier. It’s a great way to throw an extra mag on a belt of any normal width and have it at the ready.
Concealment Solutions also offers an option with both the MOLLE clips and the Tek-Lok so you can switch back and forth as needed. The Cobra Mag Carrier The Cobra is my favorite...hands down. It doesn’t have adjustable retention and for its job...it doesn’t need it. The Cobra is equipped with Quick Clips. It goes on and off a belt with relative ease. That isn’t the part that makes it my favorite, though. This is a concealed carrier. The cobra hugs the body very well and a full thirty round magazine disappears under a shirt. This could be a bit out of my expertise but I can see a place for these with security and PMC’s or any type of undercover operative. During testing, all three mag carriers proved to be strong and durable. As we all know, that isn’t exactly a magical feat for Kydex. I speak more about the durability of the mountings and Bladetech components. Whatever punishment I put them through they took with ease. Nothing came loose and no screws needed to be tightened. Once again Concealment Solutions is proven worthy of the Gundoc Seal of Approval.
