Compliance is Possible

Sometimes you just need something pointy and stabby. I should leave it right there. Drop the mic and move on. Of course, we need something pointy and stabby...even if we have no reason other than....just because. Such is the case with another great product from Home Front Defense Devices. Their “T” type Pumpkin Puncher is made to attach to the extended magazine tube of your 12ga Remington 870. Okay so there’s some issues...it depends on what extension. If you have a stock extension then you’re okay. If you have an aftermarket part...you’re still okay but leave them a message with which one you have. The other extensions are a little thicker so the Pumpkin Puncher needs to be bored out. A step they are willing to take, for free, just to please their customers. Now that’s a big claim to make about a company. Well, I’ve done more than just take a look at a part and form an opinion of it. I’ve had multiple interactions with HFDD’s owner. I believe he is very genuine in his desire to have his work appreciated. Not only in the quality of the workmanship but also in the way he treats his customers. So, on to my thoughts on this part. It’s very well made. It’s light. I had my reservations at first. HFDD’s website says that the part can fit anywhere from tight to loose. That seemed a little off to me but all I could do was try it. Well, I was hoping for a tight fit but didn’t get it. I thought it fit too loose. It was sloppy. It’s a good thing the part comes with set screws. With the set screws in place, the Pumpkin Puncher is actually quite stable. It’s actually solidly on there. So why have a Pumpkin Puncher on a shotgun? Why the hell not? There’s the fact that it looks cool, sure. There’s also a more practical application for the “prepper”. This part is essentially a “compliance” tool. You have an unruly crowd then you may not want to go through valuable ammunition and simply thump some douche in the chest with something that will “get their attention”. So, this is a possibility for riot gear or just the police officer wanting another tool in his kit.

Civilians...may not need the “compliance tool” aspect of it. Who knows what the future holds but in the meantime then you have something that is really cool on your home defense shotgun. I think the one I have will be staying right where it is...on my shotty.
