Magpul ACS...Get It

I wanted to touch on a piece of equipment we addressed in the articles on the 80% lower builds. Paul put the Magpul ACS (Adaptable Carbine/Storage) collapsible stock on his rifle. I have to admit that it is a great choice. Here are the abbreviated specs from Brownells. “The ACS is a replacement for the standard USGI M4 collapsible stock. It gives the shooter extra storage options, a secure, comfortable cheek weld, and an advanced dual-locking lever to keep you from wobbling. The smooth, streamlined exterior prevent snagging on clothing, sling, or vegetation, or other gear.’

‘Removable battery storage compartments run the full length of the extra-wide comb and hold 2 AA or 3 CR-123 batteries, while providing a wide, contoured area for an exceptionally solid, comfortable cheek weld. Slot molded in the toe provides an attachment point for a 1¼" wide sling. Also includes the same detachable rubber buttpad found on Magpul CTR and UBR buttstocks to help keep stock firmly mounted on shoulder.’ Mil-Spec fits 1.14" O.D. buffer tubes on Colt-manufactured M4 and similar mil-spec tubes that accept both four- and six-position collapsible stocks. Commercial fits larger, 1.17" O.D. commercial carbine buffer tubes. Buffer tube, carbine buffer, receiver extension nut, and carbine-length action spring not included.” Okay, now that we’ve quoted enough let me give a few thought on this stock.

They make all these pretty claims about the cheek weld...we’ll it’s pretty damn

comfortable. It gives your head and neck the perfect angle to shoot from. You’ve simply never been as stable on an AR as you will be with the ACS stock. I’ve had them on other customer rifles and I’ve never heard a bad opinion about this thing. I’ve always been more of a Magpul CTR kind of guy...but not after shooting with the ACS. No looking back. No questions. Just a new reality.
