The Legend of Bigfoot Gun Belts

For this installment I decided to shake things up a little. While waiting for the product to show up they provided me with some information about them. I thought I would let you in on that information while we wait. When I get the belt and test it out I'll write a review article from there.

I first learned about Bigfoot Gun Belts from an add in a gun magazine. The thing that caught my eye was the starting price, very reasonable. In fact so reasonable that I wanted to know more about them. Can they really be that great? I figured it could go one of two directions. Either a mediocre belt or a really good one that they priced low enough that everyone could afford one and they make up for the lower profit margin by bulk of sale. So, I set off to research a new company.

I've seen a lot of gun belts. Anything worth buying for concealed carry has double layers of leather. Some put a layer of Kydex in between the leather but they all seem to do the same job. Then comes Bigfoot with their Untamed Series claiming to be the strongest carry belt out there. All I can think is, “okay, whatcha got”.

Bigfoot Gun Belts are made with a double layering of drum dyed English Bridle leather. (For those of you who are not familiar with horses or tack Bridle leather is thick and intended to give a lifetime of service.) What's so important about that? Drum dying is a method that immerses the leather in dye and then tumbles to ensure a deep, even saturation of color. That way even when the belt has some age on it the color doesn't fade. You can enjoy this long lifetime with a classic black or brown.

To provide even more strength to this beast of a gun belt, Bigfoot Gun Belts have embedded a spring steel core between the two layers of leather. The steel core, available in both the 14-ounce and 18-ounce leather belts, provides a strength rarely seen in the industry. But seriously, what says “hard core” better than a steel core? This belt is truly built to last.

If that wasn’t good enough each belt goes through a Triple Edge Finishing process, which includes a bevel, burnish, and paint done by the same craftsmen. This is meant to create a smooth and uniform finish and also provide protection to the edges of your belt. In a nutshell this process is meant to extend the life of the belt by further withstanding wear.

To match the strength and quality of the hand cut leather, Bigfoot Gun Belts are made with corrosion resistant hardware that will stand up to the harsh elements. The nickel-plated roller buckle is made to allow the belt to roll through your buckle without damaging the leather, while the snaps provide you with an easy way to swap out your belt buckle within seconds.

Every Bigfoot Gun Belt is backed by a 7-Day Test Drive and warranty. This provides you with a chance to test it out with your CCW for a full week with absolutely no risk. If you’re not fully satisfied by this beast of a belt, send it back for a full refund.
